A Barn Dance (or 'Ceilidh') is a great way of celebrating your special occasion. Our lively folk band will play you a wide range of foot-tapping music, whilst our 'caller' leads you through the steps. You can't go wrong? Oh yes you can - and all the more fun for everyone!
If you've been to a barn dance before, you'll know that this really is the way for all your guests to enjoy themselves. No-one need get left out and mixing is guaranteed. See some comments from previous clients.
About the Band...
Our 'full-bodied' 5-piece band features melodeon, flute and saxophone for melody and harmony, with rhythm guitar and bass guitar in the rhythm section. The result is good, solid, danceable music that sounds great, and yet is very easy on the ear. We can also include our drummer if you want an even more impressive line-up.

Sounds Good?
It certainly does - high quality equipment and good technical expertise ensures that the overall performance is first class.

How much will it cost?
This really depends a lot on what you want, and where and when the dance will be. As a rough guide, a Saturday night barn dance somewhere in the Exeter area would be £590 for the 5-piece line-up and caller. If you were really looking for a smaller band, then we may be able to reduce the size of the band down to a 3-piece for you. Detailed options are given on the top of our barn dance enquiry form. We also offer reduced prices for mid-week charity dances.
Little Extras
In addition to our sound equipment, we also bring a couple of uplighters which can add a cosy glow to venues that would otherwise only have harsh lighting, and some background music if you have a break half-way.
You may also be thinking of having live music at other times during your celebration, and with our wide range of professional musical contacts in the West Country, we would be more than happy to arrange this for you, - or put you in touch directly if you prefer.

Sheer Hopody is one of many excellent barn dance (ceilidh) bands operating in Devon, West Somerset and North Cornwall, and throughout the South West of England. If we cannot help you for your particular occasion, we may well be able to suggest some other west country bands you could try.
